DARPA awards contract for ad-hoc smart phone network



The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency has tapped McLean, Va.-based Science Applications International Corporation to develop a mobile ad-hoc network for smart phones, according to a Defense Department release.

Navy awards $311.9 million contracts to 4 corporations



U.S. Navy military cyberspace experts are asking four U.S. defense contractors to investigate ways to build and support offensive and defensive information warfare systems at tactical, operational, and strategic levels under terms of separate contracts worth a collective total of $311.9 million.

 

 

Officials of the Space and Naval Warfare (SPAWAR) Systems Center Pacific in San Diego, awarded two-year cyber warfare operations contracts to Booz Allen Hamilton Inc. in McLean, Va.; General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems Inc. in Santa Clara, Calif.; The Northrop Grumman Corp. Information Systems segment in San Diego; and Science Applications International Corp. (SAIC) in San Diego.

Science Applications gets new contract



Military contractor Science Applications International Corp. said Wednesday that it received a contract valued at more than $343 million from the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command to provide modeling, simulation, analysis and integration support to warfighters.

 

 

Science Applications, based in McLean, Va., will help design and build technologies as necessary to help the Army fight existing and future space and missile defense challenges.
