U.S. Army orders Carl-Gustaf 84mm recoiless rifles



We just heard from Saab that the U.S. Army has ordered 84mm recoilless rifles. The Swedish company announced that they’ve signed a contract with the Army for the company’s Carl-Gustaf man-portable weapon system. Thought the systems has been in the SOCOM armory for years, this marks the first time the Army has bought the 84mm recoilless rifle system.

Flyovers in 3D Created by Swedish Company



LONG BEACH, Calif. — What’s better than one-dimensional satellite images of Google Maps? How about photo-realistic 3D modeling of a flyover?

 

 

C3 Technologies, a Swedish spinoff of the aerospace and defense company Saab AB, has taken technology used by the Swedish military to guide missiles in real time and turned it into a commercial application for licensing. Using images captured by plane, the software converts the video into 3D models of a city, which can be overlayed with digital billboards, social networking comments and traditional mapping legends to call out landmarks and other sites.

3D mapping; “Spring Technology Launches-Out”



Hollywood,CA( Hollywood Today)3/4/11— C3 Technologies is a Swedish leading provider of 3D mapping solutions for search, navigation and geographic information system.

 

 

They are known in Linkoping, Sweden since 2007, when it was spun out of aerospace and defense company Saab AB. C3 Technologies are today working with over one hundred 3D maps in the C3 database of cities and regions in the US, UK, Central Europe and Scandinavia. Twenty-two more cities including Asia and South America will be launched in April 2011.
