Second chance for UnitedHealth: $17B military contract t
UnitedHealth Group Inc. is getting a second chance to win a $17 billion Department of Defense contract to administer health benefits to soldiers in 21 western states, including New Mexico.

UnitedHealth (NYSE: UNH) had lost its bid for the six-year contract in 2009 to TriWest Healthcare Alliance in Phoenix. But Minnetonka, Minn.-based UnitedHealth said in a news release Thursday that the DOD had agreed to put the contract back out for bids because of a flawed selection process.
