Dewey Electronics Gates $1.1 Million Subcontract to Integrate Fuel Cell Power System

The Dewey Electronics Corporation (OTC Bulletin Board: DEWY), a leading provider of military diesel power generation systems, reported the receipt of a three (3) year subcontract to integrate a JP-8 fueled, fuel cell based, 10 kilowatt Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) for military ground combat vehicles.

The prime contract was awarded by the U.S. Army’s Tank Automotive Research, Development and Engineering Center (TARDEC) to the Altex Technologies Corporation for a base total of $5.2 million with potential contract options totaling an additional $7.9 million.

DEW Engineering and Development ULC outlines bid plans

The Canadian military is spending big money on new vehicles and DEW Engineering and Development ULC wants a piece of the pie.

The Ottawa-based company, which has manufacturing operations in Miramichi, is interviewing New Brunswick firms to line up suppliers that can help it cash in on part of some $12 billion in contracts in the pipeline for tanks, trucks and other vehicles. In 20 years of military service and another 23 years at DEW, company president Tim Dear hasn’t seen this level of spending at one time.
